Hello world!

Hi There! Welcome to Hema’s Den which you may find to be boring or interesting depending on the time of the day or day of the week or the week of the month!

My sister Shoba has been the true inspiration to start a blog of my own. I started reading her blogs very avidly sometime back now and a zillion thoughts would fill me in to comment on it. I should admit she is a good writer.

The lazy self that I am, I intend to keep this journal alive for a life time. Would be thrilled if it goes on for a few years atleast but definitely happy if I keep it on for the year..atleast one blog in a month!

So, here we go..Goodluck dear Hema! And…I am thinking of a blogging name for myself..well…think I will keep it as “Sweetie”…

Happy 2010 and lot more years to come!

  2. Hi Hema,
Sweetie is a nice name for your Blog. Why not pamper yourselves with a nice pet name. You definitely deserve it. It gives you lot of energy and happiness to have a pet name for yourself when you are 40 and above.
Recently I visited Bangalore’s famous Madivala market for buying lot of fruits for a Pooja. It’s a whole sale market and the vendor is a old lady. She saw me selecting fruits among lot of gents in her shop. Suddenly I heard her telling “Ammu” come this side, Ammu take this cover and put your fruits in the cover and give it me. I curiously looked over my shoulder to find who the Ammu is(I thought may be some small girl). Once again I heard her calling Ammu, you only, come this side for weighing, looking at me. Suddenly, I was very happy to realise that she called me only Ammu. Nobody in my life time called me Ammu. I was so happy that I did not bargain for the prices, gave whatever she asked with a beaming smile. I came home happily and told my daughter that Ishall never forget the old fruit vendor because she called me Ammu.

    • Hey Jyothi,

      Good to see your comment.
Yes, it does make us feel good when someone calls us by a pet name.
Think you should go to this market more often and remind that lady of the name and officialise it for yourself!
