Life is like a dream…

A simple philosophical musing…

_______________________________________________________

Life is like a dream; some of them make you happy and gay

They are like sweetened cream and you feel like a cake on a tray;

You are not spared the nightmares once in a while,

Catching you by the snares and dragging you a mile;

 When the colours are bright,we love the sight

We savour every bit until dawn and hold it tight.

 When the monsters strike and bares its spike,

We wake up with a start, drenched in dislike;

 The irony is,we tend to forget our dreams

And remember most of our nightmares;

To enjoy life, one has to learn to re-live the dreams,

And seek  the strength to conquer the nightmares.

  2. Yes, we tend to remember the nightmares and forget the dreams. But then better to forget both and live in the present (only a non poet like me would say that :))

  3. Very true… life is like a dream (idhathan periyava ellam brahmainnu solli irukka…assuming dream is an illusion)…

    I treat life like a dream, which is why I am always forgetful..:)

    we are at the same boat, cheers, elegant dream piece.

  6. Agreed. A pen, paper and a gentle awaking may help to remember and capture those good moments.

  7. Insightful words.

    Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog.

  8. Life is a dream, after all. We vividly remember the downs than the ups, just like nightmares, coz when good things happen, time flies and when bad things happen, time stops. You caught the essence of it,Hema

  9. Life does feel like a dream- or nightmare- at times. A wonderful write 🙂 and good advice in the end.
