Experiencing God…

  A subtle reflection while reading a book written by a Yogi…

——————————————————————————————————————–

You can’t find God in the ether,

Nor can you find Him in the infinite ocean;

You can’t see Him when the sun dims the skies,

Nor in the scorching heat when the air fries;

He cannot be found in the snow covered mountains,

Nor in the deep dark caves hidden by frothing fountains;

He doesn’t emerge in front of you if you so scream,

Nor does He show up just like that in your dream;

In His presence, man is so mundane and prosaic,

If one wants to feel Him, one has to be truly stoic;

He needs to be felt, he needs to be experienced,

He is omnipresent , yet not visible to the naked eye;

It could take years to master this magic of vision,

And tons of forbearance to witness this illusion;

It need not always be a saint in a saffron robe,

Or an ever sacrificing person on the crucifix;

It could be any simple soul with a great passion,

Who perseveres to seek this great omniscience;

It is the joy and privilege of a blessed few,

Who have been able to feel the embrace of His presence!

It is not spirituality,

It is not philosophy,

It’s a self realization,

It’s a state of mind,

That befits only a true Yogi…
